Light Up Louisville

Bec and I battled the cold weather (kinda) as we attended Light Up Louisville. The hot chocolate and apple cider were delicious, and the live music was... ummm... country.  We had a good time but ended up cutting out early. Neither of us were ready for the cold just yet.

Miss Lucy's Cottage - Logo

Rebecca's uncle & aunt in Murray Ky, Robert & Jan Swift, asked me to develop a logo for their renovated cottage that they will be renting out to travelers in the region. Beautiful little house that they fixed up quite nicely. Hopefully we'll get to stay there when we visit them next.

I really like the way it turned out..., and Robert & Jan seem to like it also.

1-Year Anniversary Weekend

WOW!!! Our first anniversary was amazing as we celebrated with an action-packed weekend!! Friday night kicked off the pre-anniversary festivities as we celebrated Halloween at the My Morning Jacket concert... this being our first event at the new KFC Yum! Center. MMJ blew the roof off the joint as always... Love 'dem hometown boys! Already looking forward to seeing them play Bonnaroo 2011. Below is a healthy video clip of 'Smokin from Shootin' from the show...

Saturday brought our 1-year anniversary (so thankful for my lovely bride) as we went out with our good friends Gavin & Lauren to take pictures where it all began. First, we stopped by Le Gallo Rosso, the restaurant where I proposed, and got some amazing shots of the outside patio and alley.  [Click to view entire slideshow... more to come!]

From there, we shot over to Cherokee Park to capture some of the Fall colors. The park looked amazing as always... and we got some beautiful, scenic shots. The drive-by honkers yelling "Congratulations" was funny as they thought we married that day.  [Click to view entire slideshow... more to come!]

Finally, We drove downtown to get some urban shots on Main Street. Craggy brick walls, iron gates, and one simple red door can make for some pretty cool shots. We REALLY LOVE all the pictures Lauren took (thanks also to Gavin). Thank you Rehermans!!! You did a great job capturing some very special shots for us!!  [Click to view entire slideshow... more to come!]

We finished the day out with a pleasant dinner with Gavin & Lauren at, ...you guessed it... Le Gallo Rosso! The owner & chef, Annette, had a bottle of wine and flowers waiting for us when we arrived.  The food was amazing as always... and for dessert, Bec had ordered a Banana Cream Pie from Homemade Ice Cream & Pie Kitchen, which we all split after dinner. UN-BELIEVABLE!!! Great, great meal and already looking forward to the next visit to our favorite restaurant.

Sunday morning was quiet and relaxing. Tim picked us up around noon to go to the first UofL game in the new arena. It was extremely exciting even though it wasn't a packed house. Below is a picture of the very first tip in the Cards' new home. I'm quite sure we'll have several lasting memories from this new arena in the coming decades with all our family & friends.

Finally... Home Sweet Home!

Black Keys

So.... this little black kitten (we named her Keys) started coming around the house about two weeks before halloween. She's a spitting image of Sabbath (one of our two cats), and extremely lovable. We've temporarily adopted her as an indoor/outdoor cat while we asked around for a permanent home. A relative in Murray, KY might take her, but still waiting to final decision.

In the past few days, she has become weaker and weaker so Bec took her to the vet where they found her to be very sick. The vet kept her overnight to run tests, give her antibiotics and fluid. Hopefully she'll be fine and off to a pleasant home. Until then, she'll get plenty of love from us.
